 The Ducati Desert X

A few months back I had the pleasure of Spending the day on this abominable white beast  of a bike, with its 110bhp motor out of the Ducati multistrada it doesn't hang around, with a wheel base the size of a yeti's foot it stable and feels capable of going anywhere.

The Good bits

it looks like it belongs in the Dakar of old fighting off Hondas RD03 Africa twin for the king of the desert, throwback stylizing with a tank that is begging for some vintage graphics its a pretty bike and Ducati as usual have made a beaut of a bike.

The power delivery is nice and linear not snatchy which you sometimes find on modern bike, it pulls like a train through the gears with out needing to grab a hand full of right, but when you do twist it on it picks up and goes, the screen does it job (I am 5ft11) on the windy day I was riding it kept the wind off me really well, slight buffering around the top of my helmet but all in all pretty good, the Stock tires are fantastic on the road and it feels agile and capable of enjoying those Northumberland roads

The bike holds its weight low due to that Vtwin which makes it feel nibble and slow maneuvers  are a breeze, never took this off road but the bike is super stable stood up on the pegs and feels capable of doing some moderate off-roading ( maybes with more dirt inspired tires)

The not so good bits

to be honest there is not many. the TFT display is a bit hard to see in certain light, and I was a little bit disappointed in the build quality, the seat felt loose which is a common problem, and factory fitted zip tie holding in a panel what's that all about Ducati ? but that's the bad bits.

The Conclusion

Would I own one? Fuck yes!!

one of the most comfortable bikes I have ever been on and out of all the modern adventure bikes its by far the prettiest and most photogenic, we wont talk about price as its a Ducati but its still cheaper then a GS and you don't have to wear full Klim gear with a million aluminum boxes to look cool pottering down the road.
